Joe
Trevino, age 66, died peacefully at home on February 3, 2006 in Avon, Colorado surrounded by family. Joe was born June 26,
1939 in San Antonio, Texas to Joe and Josie Trevino (deceased).
Joe fought a courageous
battle with cancer over the past three years. He was blessed with a unique sense of humor and will be remembered for his zinger
one-liners affectionately known as Joeism’s.
Joe had an entrepreneurial spirit and intense business drive which lead him to excel in several
business careers. As a young man, he distinguished himself in the landscape and nursery
industry throughout Texas. Always one to improve his horizons and pursue a challenge,
Joe rose to the top in sales and marketing of the garment business for national lines at the apparel mart in Dallas, Texas.
In his later years, he moved to the Colorado Mountains fulfilling a promise he made to all as
a young man. Upon his arrival, he established his presence in the business community by starting two more businesses, Clear
Water Spa and his annual Christmas tree lots for the last 8 years.
He loved the mountains
especially skiing with friends and family and told his doctors many times that he needed to get well so he could get back
on the mountain again. His family extends their heartfelt thanks to the many wonderful friends who stood by him throughout
his illness. Joe will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Joe
is survived by his four loving children: Michelle Reynolds, Jeff Trevino, Mark Trevino
and Joseph Trevino; by his son and daughters in law, Martin Reynolds, Valerie Trevino and Julie Trevino; four grandchildren: Marcie, Ashley, Jacob and John Trevino; brother: Anthony
Trevino; nieces: Cathy Gunn, Veronica Lindsey, Debra Lopez and nephew Anthony Trevino.
Thanks to the many doctors and nurses at the Shaw Cancer Center who
took care of Joe during his illness. He gave them all hell.
Joe's family is currently
